A Wireless Connection That Holds Up Even in Harsh Conditions
For the next generation of its pump monitoring, a pump and valve manufacturer brought in embedded, wireless and security expertise from IOX.

A pump and valve manufacturer was developing a new generation of its condition monitoring for pumps. Sensors on the pumps were to send their data wirelessly to a gateway. The client had the expertise in pumps and sensors. What it lacked in-house was know-how in wireless technology and security.
The Situation
Pumps often sit between steel, concrete and running motors. Wireless has a hard time there.
What We Built
IOX assessed the wireless connection, co-developed the antenna and transmission, and worked out how to secure the connection. The work was done as a team with the client’s developers, from the expert assessment through to practical implementation.
The Result
The new generation can rely on a wireless connection that holds up even in the pump room. An initial assessment turned into several work packages, from the antenna to security.
