Our client owns a large industrial site with a consignment warehouse where high-quality consumables are stored.
SUMMARY
Our customer is able to trigger ordering processes actively and quickly through our solution (smart.click one). This ensures that machines run reliably. In addition, unnecessary costs due to production downtimes and equipment standstills are prevented.
TASK
The customer wants to use digital technologies to replenish material in time and thus avoid delaying processes.
Main objectives:

SOLUTION STATEMENT
To simplify the re-ordering of material, the smart.click one was used as a retrofit solution for the customer. The internet-enabled device can control devices, apps and services at the touch of a button. As soon as material runs out, the user can trigger a new order by pressing the button.
An IoT button is assigned to each consumable and installed at the storage location. As soon as an employee presses the button, the device sends information to the back end via narrowband IoT.
The button has an e-ink display that provides feedback about a successfully placed order or a delivery date. The replenishment of the stock is finally confirmed by pressing the button.
To ensure the greatest possible flexibility, the button is battery-powered. The energy-efficient Narrowband IoT radio technology with its high building penetration ensures that the Button can also be used in underground factory facilities.
RESULT
With the implementation of the smart.click one, the customer was able to digitise the replenishment process and thus make it more efficient. The ordering processes were significantly accelerated and delays avoided. The digitalisation of operations is also accompanied by an increase in operational excellence.
The solution, which was initially rolled out to the customer as a prototype phase, offers the possibility of 100% digitalisation.
